Leuprolide acetate

Leuprolide acetate is an acetate salt obtained by combining the nonapeptide leuprolide with acetic acid. A long lasting GnRH analog, LH-Rh agonist. It is a synthetic nonapeptide analogue of gonadotropin-releasing hormone, and is used as a subcutaneous hydrogel implant for the treatment of prostate cancer and for the suppression of gonadal sex hormone production in children with central precocious puberty. Among its listed roles, it functions as a antineoplastic agent and a gonadotropin releasing hormone agonist. It includes a leuprolide. It is grouped under the following drug class(es): Antineoplastic agents, Fertility agents, Gonadotropins, Hormones, LHRH analogues and Peptides. Its therapeutic use is listed as antineoplastics. The directory classifies it as a commercial API with a peptide source/manufacturing origin. Other names for this substance include Lupron, Enantone, Procrin and Fensolvi. Its PubChem CID is 657180.
