Enoxaparin sodium

Enoxaparin Sodium is a low molecular weight heparin (LMWH), used as an anticoagulant to prevent and treat blood clots. It is obtained through the depolymerization of unfractionated heparin derived from porcine intestinal mucosa. Enoxaparin is composed of a complex mixture of linear polysaccharide chains, which are mainly sulfated and consist of alternating uronic acid (glucuronic or iduronic acid) and glucosamine residues. It is grouped under the following drug class(es): Antithrombotic agents and Carbohydrates. Its therapeutic use is listed as adhesion-prevention agents, anticoagulants, cardiovascular and hematologic agents. The directory classifies it as a commercial API with a semi-synthetic source/manufacturing origin. Other names for this substance include EP STANDARD and Enoxaparin sodium. Its PubChem CID is 60196282.
