Ceritinib

An anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) inhibitor used for the treatment of ALK-positive metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).Ceritinib is a member of the class of aminopyrimidines that is 2,6-diamino-5-chloropyrimidine in which the amino groups at positions 2 and 6 are respectively carrying 2-methoxy-4-(piperidin-4-yl)-5-methylphenyl and 2-(isopropylsulfonyl)phenyl substituents. Used for the treatment of ALK-positive metastatic non-small cell lung cancer. Among its listed roles, it functions as a antineoplastic agent and an EC 2.7.10.1 (receptor protein-tyrosine kinase) inhibitor. It is an aminopyrimidine, an aromatic ether, an organochlorine compound, a secondary amino compound, a member of piperidines and a sulfone. It is grouped under the following drug class(es): Kinase inhibitors and Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors. Its therapeutic use is listed as anti-cancer agents and antineoplastics. The directory classifies it as a commercial API with a synthetic source/manufacturing origin. Other names for this substance include ceritinibum and Zykadia. Its PubChem CID is 57379345.
