Cefmenoxime hydrochloride

Cefmenoxime Hydrochloride is the hydrochloride salt form of cefmenoxime, a third-generation, semi-synthetic, beta-lactam cephalosporin antibiotic with antibacterial activity. Cefmenoxime binds to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), transpeptidases that are responsible for crosslinking of peptidoglycan. By preventing crosslinking of peptidoglycan, cell wall integrity is lost and cell wall synthesis is halted. It is grouped under the following drug class(es): Beta-lactams. The directory classifies it as a commercial API. Other names for this substance include Cefmenoxime HCl, Cefmax and Cefmenoxime hemihydrochloride. Its PubChem CID is 11954009.
