Digitoxin

Digitoxin is a cardenolide glycoside in which the 3beta-hydroxy group of digitoxigenin carries a 2,6-dideoxy-beta-D-ribo-hexopyranosyl-(14)-2,6-dideoxy-beta-D-ribo-hexopyranosyl-(14)-2,6-dideoxy-beta-D-ribo-hexopyranosyl trisaccharide chain. Among its listed roles, it functions as a EC 3.6.3.9 (Na(+)/K(+)-transporting ATPase) inhibitor. Functionally, it is related to digitoxigenin. It is the conjugate acid of digitoxin(1-). It is grouped under the following drug class(es): Glycosides. The directory classifies it as a commercial API with a natural source/manufacturing origin. Other names for this substance include Digimerck and Digipural. Its PubChem CID is 441207.
